We had our 2nd ultrasound this week. We only really had it because they weren't able to hear the heartbeat yet, so we took a little looksy. What a shock to actually see something that looked like a baby (instead of a blob) complete with little arms and legs. When the mid-wife pushed on my belly, the baby threw it's arms up all startled like... we are annoying it already! She was able to snap this picture of the munchkin looking directly forward toward the front.
You have to look closely. All you can see is the head with 2 eye sockets, a little nose & mouth. There is also a little hand to the babies left (your right) up by its ear.

We admit we had to have you point out the image to us, but now we see it! Of course, he/she is ADORABLE!
This is one place that as a mom I suck! I will stare with all my might until I see the little babe, I promise!
The whole thing is the head... it looks like there is a big black open area (but it's only a shadow) right in the middle of its forehead... on either side of that are two small dark areas (the eyes) and a little tiny nose (which doesn't sound like any child of ours) and a little dark slit of a mouth... once you see it, IT'S GORGEOUS (biased mother speaking, of course). I think our next glimpse is in Dec. when (hopefully) we see if it has an inny or outy (weiner, of course)!
